A graduate of the Istituto Tecnico A. Rizza in Siracusa , Italy, Pirrotta emigrated to the U.S. in 1970 and established residence in Hartford, Connecticut. He obtained a B.S. in Business Administration and MBA in International Business from Central Connecticut State University.
Over the course of his 33 years in international banking he also attended several specialized training programs sponsored by University of Virginia, University of Colorado, Cornell University and Dartmouth College.
In 1990 Pirrotta received the Alumnus of the Year award from CCSU Business school in the year 2000 the Ex-Im Bank Small Business Bank for Webster Bank and was named Metro Hartford International Business Leader of the year in 2001 .
He is currently President of the Canicattinese Society, of the Italian American Society of Connecticut and a member of the Conference of Presidents of Major Italian American Organizations Pirrotta and his wife of 50 years Jo-Ann have one son and two grand children. They reside in South Glastonbury, CT.
